The Longsands PTFA is a Parents, Teachers and Friends Association formed in 1997 and exists to support the school and its pupils. As a registered charity, we work extremely hard each year to raise extra funds. Our PTFA aim is to give all children the benefit of additional funding through enhancing school resources and providing opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. We have funded both small projects, for example for sports equipment, through to large projects such as donating £3000 towards the replacement of the KS2 outdoor playground trim trail.
We organise numerous events each year including artwork projects, raffles, school discos plus many more. We are always welcome to new ideas and try to plan a range of activities to suit everyone. At many of our events, we work alongside local companies and members of community and we are very proud of the relationship that has been estbalished between Longsands school the wider community.
The Longsands PTFA have a dedicated committee to plan events. We meet termly and hold our AGM each year in October. We are always looking for support, from becoming a committee member, helping out at an occasional event, or even donating a raffle prize. You can commit as much or as little time as you like, there is no pressure. Please contact us at longsandsptfa@gmail.com if you are interesting in joining us.
All the funds we raise go towards the extra little things that enhance children's school experience and provide opportuntities that leave lasting memories. We are always very grateful for the support received both from school and from parents and care givers. Please continue to support us in any way that you can and hopefully we can continue to bring lots of smiles to little faces.
