At Longsands, we believe that all children have the right to an education that has high expectations and enables them to reach their full potential. We believe that quality first teaching provides every child with the optimum advantage for learning and we seek to provide a stimulating and supportive environment in which all children can grow.
Our school provides the very best experiences for our children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
A child has special educational needs if he/ she requires additional or alternative provision from what is generally provided for children of the same age. In order to support these children, we adopt a graduated approach of: assess, plan, do, and review to enable children to strive to achieve their very best.
We pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, creating a sense of community and belonging where we value everybody. We work in partnership with parents, carers and professionals to ensure that all children are able to develop physically, academically, emotionally, socially and spiritually whilst developing our ‘Longsands Values’ of being caring, confident, respectful, responsible and resilient.
Our SENDCo is Mrs Weston.
She can be contacted via
sendco@longsands.lancsngfl.ac.uk or via the school office on 01772 795676.
