Computing at Longsands

At Longsands, we aim to deliver a high-quality computing education which equips pupils to thrive in the rapidly changing digital world around us. Our pupils learn how to create, and responsibly consume, the vast amount of content that technology has to offer. Our broad and balanced curriculum, encompassing computer science, information technology and digital literacy, allows for creative thinking and collaboration to be at the heart of what we teach.

Through our computing curriculum, we intend for pupils nto only to be digitally competent and have a ramge of transferrable skills for the future workplace, but also to be responsible online citizens.

Keeping pupils safe online is reflected in our computing curriculum which draws on 'Education for a Connected World' and has close ties with our RSE/ PSHE curriculum. As a school, we also make use of Project Evolve to identify pupils' needs in relation to online safety and to address these needs through structured sessions.
