Longsands Community Primary School

You may have seen in the Lancashire Evening Post today that as part of the county council scheme, schools across the region have this week been asked to provide details of how many laptops they need for home school learners where children have been identified as a free school meal or vulnerable. I have already applied for these in the hope we can obtain some extra devices for Longsands. Our initial number of devices allocated by DFE was 6 for the whole school . These six have already been loaned out to the families on the list who requested one . However, due to the number being determined by the school census in the Summer term 2020, DFE have not as yet updated their records to accommodate extra numbers from September.  Therefore, there are still some of you who will not have access to one of these devices. So fingers crossed our application for the extra ones from Lancashire will be successful. Thank you Lancashire County Council in anticipation .
